Outline: Emergency Nursing

Hello bloggers! Today I will expose an Emergency Nursing's Outline. This topic is so interesting and I hope that you can learn more about this area of the Nursing profession.


Emergency Nursing; when every second counts
Background: Emergency nursing is a specialty area of the Nursing profession, like no other. To provide quality patient care for people of all ages, emergency nurses must possess both general and specific knowledge about health care to provide quality patient care for people of all ages. Emergency nurses must be ready to treat a wide variety of illnesses or injury situations, ranging from a sore throat to a heart attack. This nurses specialize in rapid assessment and treatment when every second counts, particularly during the initial phase of acute illness and trauma. 
Purpose: The purpose of this work is show or expose the function of the emergency nurses, the different roles, specialties, Triage or types of emergency and  practice settings of this area of the Nursing.

Methods: The methods used are research, compilation and analysis of differents safe fonts related with the Emergency nursing

Results: The main function of the emergency nurse is to prevent inminent severe damage or death. The nurse have different roles like Patient care, Education and  Leadership and Research (manager). The specialties of the emergency nurse are Trauma, Pediatrics, Geriatrics and Injury prevention. The Triage includes Emergent situations (are potentially life-threatening), Urgent situations (are serious but not life-threatening if treatment is delayed briefly) and Non-emergency situations (are not acute and are considered minor to moderately severe). Finally, the practice settings are very varied, they includes emergency departments, hospitals, urgent care centers, prehospital transport, military, prisions, goverment, telephone triage (assistance), medical equipment and others locations.
 
Conclusions: Emergency Nursing is a very important and necessary area of our profession because, in emergency, initially, patients may not have a medical diagnosis, and the nurses provide the caring, to people of all ages, appropiate in this conditions. For this reason, emergency nurses must tackle diverse tasks with professionalism, efficiency, and above all-caring because is here when every second counts; they can save a life.
